AMD killed the Intel mainstream market by introducing 8 cores on a 4
core only Intel mainstream market, then AMD killed Intel's HEDT platform by
introducing 16 cores on a 8-10 core Intel only mainstream market, forcing
Intel to release a very low clocked 18 core CPU for the HEDT and
scorching hot 6 cores for the mainstream market. Now AMD will put the
final nail on the coffin on the HEDT by offering twice the core count to what Intel currently offers.
Intel might have the IPC advantage but the gap is much smaller now
compared to AMD"s superior SMT scaling and wider MT performance gap.
